Amazing Post! I can relate to your story and your tips are great. I agree a lot of it comes down to mindset. I wanted to switch careers into tech for a while before I actually committed and jumped in. We have to believe in ourselves and keep going.
Thank you Brenda! Absolutely - I find that mindset is definitely one of the most important things. I still struggle with that some days to be honest, but it helps looking back to all the things I know now that I cried over some months ago 😅
"If changing careers into tech is something you're currently attempting, DO NOT GIVE UP!" -> This especially is speaking to me right now. It has been a struggle in the learning process and I've contemplated giving up. Posts like these are what keep me going. Hopefully sometime this year I'll land my first front end role too :).
I’m so glad Debra-Kaye! These were the kind of posts that kept me going too. I got my fingers crossed for you!
As a female pursuing a career in tech, I can totally relate. I learned to embrace those moments of weakness when I felt like giving up. The destination matters, but the journey getting there is how we build character. Thank you for sharing this, Rita. :)
You’re more than welcome - wishing you all the best!!
Great post! A lot of this resonated with me as I am just starting to change my career path to tech and I too usually go with the path of least resistance. A lot of what I have been learning has been taking me out of my comfort zone because I'm struggling a little with some of the material. Thank you for the motivation to persevere!
You’re welcome Alexandra! So glad this helped in some way. ☺️Remember even though some things might not be clicking yet, they will eventually make sense. Keep going!!!
Nice post!
Thanks Luis!
"You can be anything you want to be, if you work hard enough and keep persevering" - yes!! Thank you for sharing this and congrats on the new role!
You’re welcome and Thanks Rachael!
