Over the last period, I worked on improving and redesigning a WooCommerce-based web shop.
The main goal was not only to change the visual appearance, but also to make the website easier to use, faster to navigate, and better structured for visitors.
One of the projects I worked on was Ecigareta.hr:
During the redesign process, I used AI tools to help with planning, content structure, SEO ideas, internal linking, and testing different plugin-related decisions.
Some of the areas I focused on included:
- improving category structure
- checking how users move through the website
- writing clearer informational content
- improving internal links between pages
- testing WooCommerce and WordPress plugins
- reviewing page speed and user experience
- organizing blog content for long-term SEO
AI was useful as an assistant, but not as a replacement for manual work. Every decision still needed to be checked directly inside WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor, Rank Math, and the live website.
One important lesson was that a modern web shop is not only about design. It also needs clear navigation, useful content, good technical structure, and a simple buying flow.
For future improvements, I plan to continue working on:
- better category descriptions
- more educational blog content
- cleaner internal linking
- improved product page structure
- better mobile experience
- stronger technical SEO
This project showed me how AI can help speed up web development and SEO planning, especially when combined with hands-on testing and real website data.
