Hi everyone! I'm a self-taught work-in-progress developer and I can't believe I just discovered this place just yesterday! I'm really excited to connect with and learn from like-minded people who are going through some of the same technical challenges that I'm facing on new projects.
Welcome to DEV Tina! 👋🏻
Welcome Tina!!!
Hi there.
Welcome Tina!
Welcome Tina!
Hi! I'm Chy! I'm a Full-Time Full-Stack Software Engineering Student. I'm Studying Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React, Redux, SQL, Node, HTML, CSS, among other things. I love coding and the DevCommunity and I can't wait til I graduate!!!
Welcome Chy! 👋🏻
Thanks Helen!
Welcome Chy! :)
Thanks Adolpho!
Welcome Chy! It's nice having you around :)
Interested Python Web Developer. I am currently taking online course on Python and my intention is to learn python for web and automation purposes. I have completed the automate the boring stuff and Python crash course books, learning flask by writing simple apps. I trust the journey I began and I hope to get better in python programming.
Any recommendations on the course or books to read after the aforementioned or even mentorship, will be highly appreciated.
Welcome buddy!
Hey those are really good books, congrats for reading them.
There are some good courses on Python for Data Science and Machine Learning in Edx, or Coursera, from MIT, Harvard, IBM and probably some others. I really recommend going through one of those :)
Thank you. I will definitely check them out.
None of it is the boring stuff when you discover how significant it is to the overall learning and growth process. Enjoy the journey is the best advice sometimes. And programming mastery a worthwhile journey! :)
Welcome Nicholas! i use Python for automation and i can tell you that it's one of my favorite languages, keep up the good work!
Thank you. Means alot to get such a motivation.
Hi I'm Francis 👋
I signed up because I've heard really great things about this community! I'm software developer from England but living in the Netherlands. Professionally I write JS, but enjoy all kinds of development. Looking forward to reading and writing some cool stuff here.
Welcome brother
Welcome! Excited to see what you write about!
Hi Francis - Welcome!
Yes, I love this community - I think it's great! Any travel tips if I were to visit the Netherlands? It's always been on my list of neat places I'd like to go :)
I live in Rotterdam, which quite a lot of people visiting overlook. It's a really cool place, by far the most modern looking Dutch city - and you can get here in ~35 minutes using readily available public transport.
Awesome, I'll check it out - thanks!
I'll like to know more about programming as I am an aspiring full stack developer with little knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Keep at it! Do personal projects! And never stop learning! That's what helped get me into graduate school. Keep up the progress!
Cool! Welcome! You should check out FreeCodeCamp ;) really helped me to understand HTML, CSS and responsiveness. Also, they have JavaScript.
YES this. I reset my progress on freeCodeCamp recently and just got through all of HTML and CSS again. It's mostly review but it's a great place to interactively learn and the projects are challenging!
Thank you Laotaro Jordan. I'll try that
Learn by doing! Join or start an open source project in addition to reading. :)
I honestly don't know how I wasn't a member here already. I'm pretty sure I'm reading something from at least one someone here every day. But anyway...
Welcome Don!
👋
Welcome to Dev Don! 👋🏻
Hi >'n.n'<
Hi Diego! What type of data science are you most interested in?
Hello Chris! I've been looking into starting off working with financial data. To get myself comfortable with data science, I enlisted in the Data Science Path from CodeAcademy. After finishing that, I wanted to look into analyzing and visualizing financial data with python. Both artificial intelligence and machine learning interest, I will see where it takes me.w
Very neat! I hadn't seen the CodeAcademy Data Science path before - I'll have to take a look, thanks!
I got you bro... enjoy!
Hello dev.to community! My name is Sam and I am currently a full-stack student. I want to engulf myself in the dev community to better understand everything and how to write better code. I look forward to engaging with people that have experience and knowledge.
Welcome, Sam!
Hello everyone. I'm relatively new here. I have read a few posts but have never created any myself. There's a lot I want to write about but sometimes, I just don't think my post will be helping anyone as I'm not as experienced as most of the people I see here. I hope to become skilled enough so as to boost my confidence to cause a change in my community through blog posts and videos.
I am a full-Stack JS Dev with experience working with the PREN stack, I also recently started a course (python FLASK) on Udacity (
fullstack Nanodegree program) and I should be graduating in about a month.Once again, I'm glad to be here.
Hi! and welcome to DEV :) Love the ╰(°▽°)╯
Hi all! I'm a Data Scientist working for the Office for National Statistics in the UK although I'm in the middle of transferring to a different company. Main interest is in how we communicate Data Science to others in organisations in a way that helps them understand its business implications.
That's an awesome focus! I've personally found that many new data scientists underestimate the importance and difficulty of getting stakeholder by-in.
Thanks! Yes completely agree, there’s a real gap in explaining the “why” and not just the “how”.
I come learning to code I just finished learning HTML and I came here because Google showed me some articles on web development developers not letting me here so why not sign up thanks Google keeps sending me and sign up here I hope to continue in my journey to learn different languages and such so that is why I took the step.
Hello everyone!
I'm a Full-Stack Web Developer. I woke up this morning feeling like starting my own blog 😄and luckily I stumble upon this great community. I like keeping myself up-to-date with latest trends and technologies for web development. I would like to share some of my knowledge/experience from the things I've learned so far as a developer, so if you have any tips/tricks on how to create a nice post please send them my way.
Have a great week everyone!
Hello world! I'm a French engineering student who can't believe he just discovered this great community! I'm interested and eager to learn more about the JAMstack, game dev, IT security, blogging and many other things.
See you!
Welcome! I just discovered this great community myself! Let's learn more stuff!
Hey Dev.to 👋
Super excited to be here. I love the concept here and though this would be a great place to learn new ideas and share what I do.
I am the technical co-founder of asknicely.com , I started building the site in my bedroom 5 years ago, now it's turned into a company with offices in Portland USA, Auckland NZ and now Amsterdam!
I spend most my time trying to keep complexity out of our product! Anyone can make the product more complex but it takes some real effort to keep it simple.
Looking forward to sharing some code and fun solutions to some interesting problems we had.
Cheers, John
I am so disappointed in myself? Where have I been all this long?... That aside I am so glad to be here. I am a tech enthusiast with lots of passion. I am here to learn and help someone learn from me (woo...w).
I am currently perfecting my skills to becoming a fullstack developer in Ruby and Javascript. I will be glad to learn lots from all of you.
Welcome Phemia!
Wow good thing we found our way here
Hello everyone! I am a web dev noob from Indonesia...
Thank you for having me in this community and I am looking forward to learn many things from you guys..
Currently exploring node js and React realm after 3 years experience in Java realm.
Hi! I'm a fullstack developer currently working as a front end developer (ReactJS) in Uruguay.
I'm finishing up my studies in computer science and excited to dive into the machine learning world soon.
Really looking forward to help and be helped in this awesome community!
Hello dev.to community :) Since so much effort was put into the dev.to onboarding page, it felt wrong to not come here and introduce myself.
I've been a developer for around the last 15 years. I come from the XMLHttpRequest days, heck, the post to an iframe days 👻... Today I find myself writing a lot in Vue with C#, Node, and more recently Golang backends. I joined to connect with other devs to share what I know and learn a lot more!
Would love to see your articles, Matt 😁
Hello everybody 😃
My name is Paolo and I come from Italy. I'm a self-taught dev too and I work as Go developer for a French start-up.
I'm curious about everything that speaks with 0s and 1s 🤖.
Look to find and share amazing stuff here!
Ciao! 👋
Hi all! I'm a full-time software engineer writing full stack (mostly spring/java). In my downtime I love working on my side projects like flowist.io. Have been writing about the journey on Indiehackers, but now want to get into blogging and sharing my learning with others!
Good day! my name is Gift Austin, I'm a self-taught programmer and gamer, I'm a student at a college and I just found out about dev just yesterday and I'm really excited to meet y'all and hope to learn a lot.

Hi, I am a teenager but I really love to be a programmer and now that I'm here I guess this is where everything begins to make sense for me. I'm self taught in HTML and CSS but I wanna learn JavaScript and Python but don't know a suitable material for beginners. I really glad to be part of the experienced and innovative minds here.
Are you new to programming in general? Or you just want to learn JavaScript and Python?
I'm new to programming in general...Any help please?

Hiii, I'm trying since couple of days to consume my .net core api running in kestrel on a ubuntu server with a vuejs frontend running with gninx. I was thinking that this architecture is a good one, but ... I have so manye troubles with CORS. I gonna hate CORS in few days for sure ! The entire project works without any issue in my local dev PC, but in the ubuntu VPS.... hooooooo I'm so ........ I don't know how to handle it.
Plz help
Hello wonderful people ~_~ !
Name is Aleodor but everybody calls me Ale, I'm a frontend dev with a love of anything techy. Mostly been a corporate worker so far but I'm looking at getting into writing and contributing to open source (time to give back to the awesome community that made me good at my job).
I spend a lot of time in trying to figure out how best to help developers get out of their shell and help them build a better f2f social facade (sharing the love of public speaking, workshops, hackathons).
I am looking forward to bringing another thread to the dev.to storyline and also learn how to write a proper article <3.
Clever coding!
Welcome!!
Hello guys, I just released today GitHub Compare and had already a few requests on how I built that custom select with input and dropdown in React. So I decided to finally sign up in DEV and write my first dev tutorial! Wish me luck :D
Heyo! I'm Drew from Denver, CO. I make games in JavaScript and am currently learning the Godot engine, which is like Python, for my next big project. Stoked to be here!
Welcome to DEV Drew! What type of games do you like to make? I've always been interested in making games in JS, but haven't found a great game engine I like... any tips there?
Hey Chris!
I had been working on a retro-style RPG in my free time for a few years, similar to Earthbound, Pokemon, Super Mario RPG, etc. It came out on Steam earlier this year: store.steampowered.com/app/1064690...
We (a friend and I) used Create React App and wrapped the final output with Electron. It's nothing fancy - mostly simple divs and sprite sheets moving around on screen. It was simple enough to not need a physics engine or anything like that.
I haven't used it, but I know people love Phaser as a JS game engine:
phaser.io/
Oh, that's awesome! I actually think I saw a talk, or podcast or something about your game (I definitely remember the graphics and that you built it with just React - but can't remember where I heard about it); that's really neat :)
Ah yeah, found it - it was syntax with Wes Bos :)
Congrats!
Hi everyone! I'm a self-taught work-in-progress developer and I can't believe I just discovered this place just today! I'm really excited to connect with and learn from like-minded people who are going through some of the same technical challenges.
Welcome to DEV! It's a great place to hang out with other devs :)
Hi Everyone i'm Ishrat Jahan, software developer, highly interested in Front-End engineering and JavaScript and browser game development.I just discovered this page today,i'm really excited to learn from you all.
Welcome on board.
Hi everyone! I'm a fresher in developer field and I can't believe I just discovered this place just yesterday! I'm really excited to connect with and learn from like-minded people who are going through some of the same technical challenges that I'm facing on new projects.
Hello there! I'm a 34 years old .NET and Javascript developer with 5 years experience. I'm currently Lead Developer for a team of three. I've read some good articles from here, but haven't become a member until now. My bad!
Looking forward to learn from The community!🙂
I came here to develop my self-skills in web development like html, css and java-script... . I'm fast learner hard worker and good searcher so i think will be no problem for me to be like you as an advance developer and a good one in the future.
Hi folks, i am versed in software testing and recently one of my friend connected me to this platform which sounds wonderful for knowledge sharing through blogs content and make technical connections as well.
Hi guys,
I am a software developer currently working in a product startup and continuously improving myself learning from online resources, I would love to connect with you all and contribute to open source projects involving some cool technologies like React and its ecosystem, JavaScript in General, Python and C# with .NET.
Hey everybody!
I've just been shown this by a colleague/fellow student and couldn't believe I'd never heard of it! I'm studying towards being a "Data Technician", roughly the same as studying Computer Science I think. So coding, lots of "wtf are this", and loads of Monsters/Coffee.
When I'm not being totally awake and totally working, I'll be at home, probably playing video games, mostly World of Warcraft.
I'm currently working on a game in Unity, a top-down 2d RPG rogue-like thingamawhatsit. Things are loosely based on D&D rules. It's in early stages yet, and my project partner and I are still learning!
Hey Guys, I'm a Front End Developer and JS enthusiast. Have seen many people who deeply follow dev.to and share posts on twitter and that's where my love for dev.to has grown. Loved whatever read from this site. Love React, React Native, Angular, SCSS and anything related to JS. Looking forward to get and share knowledge through this site. Cheers!
Hello everyone,
my name is Tomaž and I'm new here. I'm already excited to be part of this wonderful community, full of programming enthusiasts. I'm CTO in startup called Zenodys and I love programming - from tiny IoT devices to full blown dekstop and web applications.
I'm using many tools: C/C++, C#, javascript, HTML, Python, NodeJs among others. I think that every tool is unique and has it's weakness and strengths.
So I just decide which tool I'm going to use when I see project requirements.
I also believe that open-source software accelerates innovation. That's why I contribute to the community with making my code public as much as possible.
My main interest currently is machine learning. I'm working on visual wrapper around ML.NET object model.
Here is the link to the installation instructions with real life example. Code is entirely open sourced and it would be very helpful for me to make some features roadmap if you check it and give some feedback.
Cheers
I'm an old server guy who is making the leap to frontend with Unity3D to build interesting VR and AR user interfaces. I know lots of Python and Devops stuff (mostly devops in the cloud, but I'm an old Linux wizard, if anyone needs Linux help). I'm joining here to post some of my learning and learn from the community.
Hey folks ! Glad to be a part of Dev as a small independent dev ! Looking interesting to know facts shared in the forum. Recently started as a software developer intern in a silicon valley technology company ! Not yet out of college ! Joining the community to grow with you all. Cheers !
Welcome aboard!
Hiiii - I'm a lovable open source kitty! 👻
In all seriousness, though, I care a lot about OSS and have spent the last year focused on trying to make it easier to OSS devs to earn sustainable funding from our projects.
I'm excited to be working on Saasify, a platform that makes it really easy to create monetized FaaS APIs from open source projects. All you have to do to get started is wrap your code in a serverless function, and we handle all the billing, accounts, frontend marketing site, docs, and support for you.
If you have a project you might want to saasify and start monetizing, I'd love to hear from you!
Looking forward to meeting & collaborating with some of you wonderful dev.to folks. 😀
Hello!
My name is Boss. I am a functional programming geek, loves learning about Maths and seeking for the beauty of the hidden patterns in things, be it code, business domain or human behaviors. Recently, I'm involving in infrastructure work a lot.
I'm also interested machine learning, data engineering and lots of other things. So maybe I'm just simple curious guy here :P
I have been reading many posts from here for awhile. I'm excited to be part of the community!

I'm really so excited to connect with you and learn more things.
wow. cool platform.
programming since 2001, i hear newer devs ask where to start. looking back over what development concepts have persisted, get base understanding of web dev using mvc (java or .net, up to you) focusing on simple stateless concepts of getting data from backend (file, db, etc.) to presentation layer. read everything, branch out from there and have fun!
cheers! 🍻
Hello people
I came here following a guide to setup httpd on OpenBSD, and some details in the guide like (chroot to /var/www is user www's home dir) wooah now it all makes sense when it's perfectly phrased like that, well better that's my paraphrasing.
Anyway so I came here to thank the user, but I don't think I can, and it seems this is a good place to learn so I think I'll stick around here :) .

Hi, everyone. :) I am a software engineer at the beginning of my career. I love coding .NET microservices, and currently I am working on improving my full-stack skills with Angular and Typescript.
Looking forward reading from you!
Hey everyone! I am a student and would love to be the same to learn new technologies.Technology always amazes me and I try to find new ways to apply it. I am simply a Learner, Thinker and Developer. Also I am an OpenSource Enthusiast. I am familiar with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift and Ansible. Also I love writing tech blogs!
I am a deveoper by passion, Enterprise Architect by profession.
Have historically been addicted to C, Java, PL-SQL and now developing with Python and Go.
My professional side deals with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, APIs and microservices.
Looking forward to reading and sharing some good content in fun way.
Hey all! Super excited to be here! Thanks for the incredible community that you've all built here. I just made a new post about what we're doing at buildeverywhere.org.
Check it out when you have some time! dev.to/buildeverywhere/buildeveryw...
DEV looks great so far. Happy to be here and exited to be part of this community. Cheers
Designer here to learn more about what devs do to make sites accessible so I can better work with web teams on accessibility.
Good plan. We like accessibility here!
Awesome!
Hey, I'm currently a 3rd year student pursuing Information Science and Engineering. I am very interested to become a software developer and have a basic idea of back end development using the Django framework
Looking forward to learning as much as possible from all the experiences shared here by the seniors and aiming to expand my current awareness in the recent technologies...
I am glad I found this forum :)
Hey folks :)
My name's Max and I am a Software Architect and Lead Backend for a startup.
I joined this community because I would like to become really good at ReactJs. As a full backend dev, I never really worked on Client dev so I felt it would time to start :)
Best !
I arrived here by the article dev.to/claudiosanchez/instantly-re... written by @claudiosanchez a person who has made great contributions to the developer community in my country Dominican Republic.
I have been able to get async/await working in my C++/winRT app - but its trial and error. Debugging is difficult when you expect something to wait and it doesn't. I'm changing to C# hoping for the better.
Have I made the correct decision?
Hey guys!
I have discovered DEV a few weeks ago on Fb, started reading more and more articles and finally decided to join the community.
I have a very diverse background and a degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies. I have recently graduated from a local bootcamp here in Vienna, Austria and successfully changed careers.
I am a Java Backend Developer currently learning Kotlin. Looking forward to the interesting discussions!
I wish you all a beautiful day ahead! :)
Hi guys! I started a bootcamp web development course about two weeks ago that I'm really enjoying. I could barely spell 'program' before I started and am now being introduced to the basics of CSS. I'm glad to be a new member of the team {:o)
Hello. I'm here because of my news feed. I liked the setup and the openness of the community. I have a lot to learn from here.
Also development fun fact about me. I learned Django in 20 minutes because it was 11:30pm and my assignment was due at 12am. 20 minutes to learn 10 minutes to implement. It was a damn whirlwind and I think my work showed that... Still got full credit. Final note don't be like me and wait to the last minute. Next week I have to stick a database to this sucker.
Hi Everyone,
I like writing code and sometimes writing about it. Lately, I've become more of a minimalist with my code (i.e., "how much more can I do with less?" is my new mentality). I tend to write mostly in Javascript (NodeJS, Vue, Nuxt) but I'll happily be open-minded in my attempt to solve problems. I have some software I published on NPM and hope you find it useful.
So far, the open-source community has motivating me a lot. I hope I can return the favor.
(and, at the risk of sounding extremely uncool, I'm also looking for work :/)
Rich
Hi I am backend developer.
During my day job I work with Spring, Kotlin, Project Reactor and Scala. I am interested in theoretical computer science specifically in the area of programming language semantics, domain specific languages and formal Modelling.
Hi all! Short-time reader, first time poster!
I'm a mostly self-taught person of many hats in my current job working for a magazine website. I mostly bounce between content management (converting print article designs to XML for online publishing; helping prep online-only content), content creation (primarily data visualization projects, e.g. doi.org/10.1063/PT.6.4.20180925a, doi.org/10.1063/PT.6.4.20191003a), and helping with front end design/UX/UI strategy.

Hello world! I'm a CSE student,Neil(A Flutter Developer)who can't believe he just discovered this great community! I'm interested and eager to learn more about the DEV, game dev, IT security, blogging and many other things.
See you!
Hello World! I got introduced to coding in college and then while trying to figure out how I could make a stupid toy car "autonomous" with an Arduino. Taking more serious steps into web development now and basically playing around with open source python libraries such as #allennlp. Construction is my game and I see many ways tech can help the current challenges the industry is facing. Happy to find out this platform today!
Hello, dev.to! I've lurked occasionally as I've seen dev.to posts on my Twitter feed. Today's funding announcement got me to actually open an account.
I've heard nothing but good things about this community, looking forward to following it a bit more closely!
My name is James and I'm a software developer since 2013. I finished my master's degree in software engineering in 2017 and I'm currently working with software for security purposes.
I'm here to learn new things ans share some thoughts about software development and other technology stuff.
For 2019/2020, I want to learn Rust and improve my knowledge and skills in semantic web technologies, that is my main research field.
I never contributed for open source, but I'm felling that 2020 is a good year to start with it ;-).
Besides computer things, I waste my time with comics and pop culture products.
That's it, It's me.
Hi there! I'm the accidental scripter for my client, creating (ok, modifying) OpenSource scripts for use with my clients for InDesign and Acrobat.
I'm here to learn just enough to be dangerous. If along the way I become less accidental that would be alright!
Hello everyone, I am beginner in the feild of web development, I am doing currently doing my first project using laravel for back-end and bootstrap for front-end and I am enjoying the development really much although there are some frustrating time when I get stuck in one problem for a couple of days (-_-)
Hello everyone, I'm currently building my Webdev career, learning on my own. I have a little CS background. I've read a few posts here on DEV in recent past, shared by the role models on Twitter. Anyways, I decided join and hopefully meet many more inspiring people!
