Interested Python Web Developer. I am currently taking online course on Python and my intention is to learn python for web and automation purposes. I have completed the automate the boring stuff and Python crash course books, learning flask by writing simple apps. I trust the journey I began and I hope to get better in python programming.
Any recommendations on the course or books to read after the aforementioned or even mentorship, will be highly appreciated.

There are some good courses on Python for Data Science and Machine Learning in Edx, or Coursera, from MIT, Harvard, IBM and probably some others. I really recommend going through one of those :)

There's a lot I want to write about but sometimes, I just don't think my post will be helping anyone as I'm not as experienced as most of the people I see here. I hope to become skilled enough so as to boost my confidence to cause a change in my community through blog posts and videos.
I am a full-Stack JS Dev with experience working with the PREN stack, I also recently started a course (python FLASK) on Udacity (fullstack Nanodegree program) and I should be graduating in about a month.

I am the technical co-founder of asknicely.com , I started building the site in my bedroom 5 years ago, now it's turned into a company with offices in Portland USA, Auckland NZ and now Amsterdam!

I spend most my time trying to keep complexity out of our product! Anyone can make the product more complex but it takes some real effort to keep it simple.

Looking forward to sharing some code and fun solutions to some interesting problems we had.

Hey Chris!

I had been working on a retro-style RPG in my free time for a few years, similar to Earthbound, Pokemon, Super Mario RPG, etc. It came out on Steam earlier this year: store.steampowered.com/app/1064690...

We (a friend and I) used Create React App and wrapped the final output with Electron. It's nothing fancy - mostly simple divs and sprite sheets moving around on screen. It was simple enough to not need a physics engine or anything like that.

I haven't used it, but I know people love Phaser as a JS game engine:

So I just decide which tool I'm going to use when I see project requirements.
I also believe that open-source software accelerates innovation. That's why I contribute to the community with making my code public as much as possible.
My main interest currently is machine learning. I'm working on visual wrapper around ML.NET object model.

Hello. I'm here because of my news feed. I liked the setup and the openness of the community. I have a lot to learn from here.

Also development fun fact about me. I learned Django in 20 minutes because it was 11:30pm and my assignment was due at 12am. 20 minutes to learn 10 minutes to implement. It was a damn whirlwind and I think my work showed that... Still got full credit. Final note don't be like me and wait to the last minute. Next week I have to stick a database to this sucker.

Hi Everyone,

I like writing code and sometimes writing about it. Lately, I've become more of a minimalist with my code (i.e., "how much more can I do with less?" is my new mentality). I tend to write mostly in Javascript (NodeJS, Vue, Nuxt) but I'll happily be open-minded in my attempt to solve problems. I have some software I published on NPM and hope you find it useful.

So far, the open-source community has motivating me a lot. I hope I can return the favor.

(and, at the risk of sounding extremely uncool, I'm also looking for work :/)

Hi all! Short-time reader, first time poster!

I'm a mostly self-taught person of many hats in my current job working for a magazine website. I mostly bounce between content management (converting print article designs to XML for online publishing; helping prep online-only content), content creation (primarily data visualization projects, e.g. doi.org/10.1063/PT.6.4.20180925a, doi.org/10.1063/PT.6.4.20191003a), and helping with front end design/UX/UI strategy.

Hello World! I got introduced to coding in college and then while trying to figure out how I could make a stupid toy car "autonomous" with an Arduino. Taking more serious steps into web development now and basically playing around with open source python libraries such as #allennlp. Construction is my game and I see many ways tech can help the current challenges the industry is facing. Happy to find out this platform today!

Hello, dev.to! I've lurked occasionally as I've seen dev.to posts on my Twitter feed. Today's funding announcement got me to actually open an account.

I've heard nothing but good things about this community, looking forward to following it a bit more closely!

My name is James and I'm a software developer since 2013. I finished my master's degree in software engineering in 2017 and I'm currently working with software for security purposes.

I'm here to learn new things ans share some thoughts about software development and other technology stuff.

For 2019/2020, I want to learn Rust and improve my knowledge and skills in semantic web technologies, that is my main research field.
I never contributed for open source, but I'm felling that 2020 is a good year to start with it ;-).

Besides computer things, I waste my time with comics and pop culture products.

That's it, It's me.

Hi there! I'm the accidental scripter for my client, creating (ok, modifying) OpenSource scripts for use with my clients for InDesign and Acrobat.
I'm here to learn just enough to be dangerous. If along the way I become less accidental that would be alright!
