Hello everyone!
I'm a freelance animator looking to jump career paths into front end development, aiming more towards UI/UX. I would like to continue working with animation along the way so I'm excited to learn more about that in my self-learning journey. I'm very curious about interactive web design and how I can create interactive storytelling through it. When I'm not trying to learn code languages I'm trying to learn Swedish as a 2nd language. I love coffee, reading, cooking, and trying desperately to keep our 2 house plants alive.
Hello dev.to community!
My name is Luke. I am an aspiring software developer and in the process of "self-teaching". I currently work full time in a warehouse in Minnesota. I have decided I need a change and want to learn the skills required to start applying for jobs as a software developer. I am hoping I can do this without a college degree, so I am devoting all my spare time towards learning. I worked for several years as a computer repair technician and have been around/inside computers most of my life but I have never mustered the gumption to delve the programming rabbit hole.
I started my journey about a month ago with C#. I am currently using YouTube, a few books, SoloLearn and CodeWars to learn and practice. I signed up to be a part of dev.to in the hopes that connecting with other like-minded individuals would teach me a lot and help in progressing towards my goal of becoming a software developer. If you know of any learning resources or have any tips, I would be grateful for any and all suggestions. I really like the content I am seeing on the site as well as the positivity, I hope I will be able to contribute to both in the days to come.
Hello Everyone , my name is Dip Raut and I'm a full stack developer with expertise in React and Node. Currently working at Global payments solutions as a Software engineer. Learning AWS and CI/CD this days.
Hi, my name is Marc. I have been learning full stack web development at the Flatiron School for the past seven months, and a self-taught programmer long before that. My first foray into web development was editing my Xanga and MySpace profile pages via some truly awful HTML and CSS. A few years later I built my own website for my friends and I to post some articles we had written. When I worked in New York, I helped maintain several WordPress sites for the businesses I worked with. After moving to China, I would on occasion build a website or do some design work for friends. I usually charged a good steak or a bottle of gin. When I had some free time, I would pick up the occasional job via UpWork.
After deciding to return to the United States, I started to look into coding full time. I landed on Flatiron School due to their reputation, how they assemble their cohorts (classes) to maximize the number of people with different backgrounds, and their location near my apartment in the Financial District of New York.
Currently, as I am ending my program in the next few months, I am looking to see what is out there, meet some new people in the field, and potentially make a small name for myself in the web community.
That said, hello all! I look forward to getting to know some of you guys in the coming months.
-M

Hello everyone!
I'm Matt from Colorado, a career restaurant professional learning web development since June '20. Aside from my history in restaurants I am a dedicated problem-solver, with a BA in Sociology and a certification for photovoltaic installation (solar panels). I've been interested in learning to code for quite some time, and with a little nudge from the pandemic coupled with the current state of restaurant work (spoiler: I'm over it), I am super motivated and excited to become a part of your community!
Since I started studying Codecademy's web development and edX's CS50 courses a few months ago (among many other resources) I've fallen in love with the dynamic problem-solving nature of JavaScript, and I'm trying to resist the urge to jump into Python before I've gotten really comfortable with js. Recently I've been working with React and it's been as fun as it's been challenging!
I'm excited to get to know some of you and learn from you. I'm hungry for all of the bugs and rabbit-holes that are thrown my way. I have so much to learn still, but I'm here to stay and I really love it! If you have any advice for a transitioning new programmer, please feel free to reach out to me.
Nice to meet all of you!

Hello everyone!
I'm an aspiring data scientist with 2-3 years of experience in Python and R. I'm here to learn more about software engineering principles, connect with like-minded people in the data science space, and just have a good time connecting with you all.
I love video games (hacker slasher games and RPGs are my favorites), podcasts (I'm currently binging Armchair Expert), and standup comedy acts (Dave Chappelle is my current go-to). I also write weekly data science articles @ towardsdatascience.com
Currently, I'm very much interested in Internet privacy and the role that algorithms play in our day-to-day lives (from deciding if we get a job to determining if we would have a good time with another person). I'm reading "Weapons of Math Destruction" by Cathy O'Neil and I'd definitely recommend the book to anyone with similar interests. (If books bore you, then I'd recommend watching 'The Social Dilemma', which you can stream on Netflix).
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you guys. Feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to chat.
