Hi @mishmanners, thanks for responding to these comments and sharing clarity, really appreciated.
Rather than any particular app, I wanted to leverage a very under-rated feature of GitHub Actions: reusable workflows for automating CI/CD across repositories. Would you mind confirming if that's a valid entry for participating in this hackathon?
I'm not sure about self-promotion here so, instead of linking my post, here's my source code for reference.
Thanks once again for your time.
Hello Michelle,
I'm making an open-source collection of the useful github repositories for developers, programmers, newbies and students.
Will this project be considered as a valid project for the hackathon ? ( It is not an application but ofcourse it is very useful project )
Please help me get it.

The hackathon criteria is either a GitHub Action, or using Codespaces. How does your submission do one of these two things? If you can answer that, then it's valid 😄
Hello, do we know if and when the results are announced?
Hi Michelle,
Could I create a project that showcases how build/ testing and deployment and a Java based application from scratch be done with the help of GitHub actions? Would this fall under the guidelines for the hackathon?
It would still need to fall under one of the criteria:
Sounds like it will be more "integrate an existing GitHub Action" into a new workflow. If you can do that, then go for it!
May be i am late to the party, but thinking about an idea.
if i make github acton, which will auto-update JIRA tickets / slack reminders etc, would that be ok? I wonder, because, JIRA is not for big OSS community friendly.
The code is open for a while, can I private it later?
If i make the monetization later, would that still fine?
The criteria is a GitHub Action, and the code must be open source.
Hi 👋
Where can I find the announced results? :)
Are the results for the hackathon announced or if there has been a decision to postpone the announcement to a later date?
Hi Michelle,
For the Wacky Wildcards section, are Github Actions and Codespaces needed in order for my submission to be considered ?
You still need to either build a custom action or customize your project for GitHub Codespaces by configuring dev container files to your repository. It just means that what you build or optimise can be anything wacky or wild!
Can I still work on my project after the 23rd May, or do we need a code freeze until 8th June when judging is over?
