Music Monday β€” What are you listening to? (Anything Goes Edition πŸ‘)

cover image source: Gifer

Been a good bit since I've done one of these! This morning I'm needing some musical suggestions and figured I'd hop in to see what the ole DEV community has to suggest. Hope everybody has been doing well... what ya been listening to? Anything goes here.

Clip from Bob's Burgers of Jimmy Junior dancing with headphones on, his eyes are closed while he seductively rubs his body up and down.

How to play

Folks can chime in and drop links to whatever they've been listening to recently + browse others' suggestions. This time around, no genre is listed, so suggest whatever you wanna. πŸ™Œ

Let's do some listening! πŸ‘‚

Note: You can embed a link to your song using the following syntax {% embed https://... %}. This should work for most common platforms!

Looking forward to hearing y'all's suggestions! 🎢

I'm going to see Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman next month so they've been on repeat a lot lately:

When I'm working on something, I like to listen to a steady and repetitive beat, it somehow helps me focus. This has been my go-to for a while, I just put it on loop in the background:

Love it. Metal music is a major Norwegian export article! 🎸✨

Yes! What I love even more about this is that QOTSA contributed heavily to the Desert Rock scene, and out comes Slomosa, a Norwegian band, with "Tundra Rock" - a genre inspired by Desert Rock, which itself has elements of metal! Slomosa are amazing, check them out:

Can't go wrong with Queens! I was on a big QotSA kick a couple years ago. Saw them live when they came through Raleigh and they freaking rock!

I would love to, but I would probably need to travel halfway across the globe πŸ˜‚
I live in Tunisia, which is in North Africa. I've never had the chance to see any of my favorite bands. Someday though!

Listening to a steady, repetitive beat while working is a well-recognized method for enhancing focus and productivity. This approach leverages the brain's preference for predictable patterns, which can minimize distractions and foster a state of deep concentration.
Why Repetitive Music Enhances Focus:
Predictability Reduces Distractions: Familiar, repetitive music can help the brain tune out external stimuli, allowing for improved concentration on the task at hand.
Induces a Flow State: Repeatedly listening to the same calming music can condition the brain to enter a productive flow state more readily

Good tunes, Martin!

I especially like the one by The Kinks. I have a big soft spot for 60's music!

I can't focus well while listening music cause I always get trapped into the beat, but whenever I listen music at work I try instrumental and loop sounds like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhZaHf8RP6g&ab_channel=DaftPunk
